Founded in 1993 by the late Chakufwa Chihana, the Alliance for Democracy (AFORD) broke new ground as Malawi’s first political party to challenge one-party rule. Today, under the leadership of Hon. Enock Kanzingeni Chakufwa Chihana, AFORD remains deeply rooted in democratic values—fighting for social justice, economic empowerment, and a better future for all Malawians.
